This is the phrase that I read in my daily devotional that triggered a memory. After our “Missionary and Training and Equipping” ended in Canada this past December, we were in South Carolina, and I was thinking about the work ahead of us in Panamá. I began to feel very overwhelmed with the thought of curriculum planning for community health workshops.
At the time, I was reading a biography about Mother Teresa. She said, “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” Something in my brain clicked. Wow! That seems easy enough! Just love everyone. “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” John 13:34. That overwhelming feeling drifted away as I felt filled with love. Now as I reflect on “Love is God´s will in action,” I challenge myself to ponder “What actions am I willing to take to show all people love, so that they may know God?” Who will you serve today?
“Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing.” –Mother Teresa
